Notes for the Hoppret Heist pre-2023
The uncovering of Edwardo.
After setting off to the Hopprets, the party come across an abandoned mining town called Whiteridge. After dark, Anya notices some movement from the town as she sees a group of skeletons digging up the graveyard and grabbing bones. After a short fight containing multiple Thryn-sourced explosions, the party determine where the power keeping these animated skeletons is coming from.
Once outside the small hut, a fight with a skeleton from a Minotaur ensues as 2 out of the 3 party members were remembering to be stealthy. After a fight that almost takes the life of both Anya and Thryn, the party get inside the hut to discover a secret underground room with a symbol belonging to the Earth Temple Coven. The party elect not to tip over the vat containing a black, bubbling, slightly murmuring fluid and instead loot the premises after determining that the place has been abandoned by non-reanimated life.
In among the items, a little coin purse in the shape of a frog, with gold stitching “Edwardo” is found.
The Casing of Hoppret Manor.
Arriving in Coalgrove, the party wait in the woods for 2 hours while they discuss their course of action. It is elected that Aranar will enter as Thryn’s bodyguard, while Anya will case the Hoppret manor that night.
Entering the town, Thryn and Aranar find the establishment The Gifted Brewer. Entering, they overhear a heated discussion between multiple members of the manors estate. After finding a room and paying through the nose for it, they wait the night to see the outcome of Anya’s escapades.
That night, Anya sneaks onto the manor’s grounds, and finds that the rear of the building is mostly deserted. She sneaks her way through the grounds, hearing gossip of Ivy being rejected by Faril, rather publicly.
Once inside, Anya quickly locates the armour, right in the middle of the main room, well guarded. There also appears to be something of a reception desk, and she can hear the voice of a sobbing woman.
With all the information she can ascertain collected, Anya begins to sneak her way out, stopping only to dodge behind some standing armour as Bexley Hoppret walks past, with an assistant. Anya snoops to the room that the pair came from, but finding it locked she looks through the keyhole, only making out some rectangular shapes as big as a human, when an eye looks through the lock back at her.
Leaving quickly, Anya returns to her camping spot for the night (and has a nightmare).
The next day, Thryn and Aranar head downstairs to find a son of the Mulrows that Thryn went to arcane lessons with. Thryn and Meskod then spend the day shopping, as Thryn finds a new outfit, and eventually asks to be included on the invite to the manor, as Thryn does not have one. Meskod responds that he will do what he can, but can’t promise anything.
Anya rents a room in the same tavern and relates the layout of the premises to the other two.
