Notes for the Hoppret Party
The Hoppret Party.
Eventually, Meskod runs off on a mission to help sneak Thryn into the party, finally being able to put his skills to work. Later that evening, while Thryn and Aranar are having dinner, Meskod comes back in with a plan. Finding a guard that wouldn’t mind a fat payday, Meskod has convinced him to let in a guest that was mistakenly not given an invite, and their Guard. Later in the evening, after discussing the event tomorrow night, Gal pulls Aranar aside and mentions his recognition of the Mandalorian. Gal offers his help in hiding the mandalorian’s signature armour style to go unnoticed in crowds, mentioning this is something he has had to do before. Afterwards, Aranar offers to get drinks with Gal, which mostly results in Gal drinking both drinks multiple times.
The next day, the party readies to go off to the event. Thryn and Aranar will get in the main entrance, and Anya will sneak into the manor and help from the inside. While getting ready, Meskod mentions there will be events at the party, and Gal is readying up with some lancing armour. Getting in goes smoothly for both teams, with no eyebrows raised and 50 gold changing hands.
Once in the event, Thryn and Aranar get a feel for the location and head to various events. There is a joust in which Gal wins a round and eventually loses to Berenger, knight of the Hopprets. After this there is some archery in which both Aranar and a half elf called Ivy joins. Aranar comes runner up to Ivy. After this there is a knife throwing contest, the only two contestants being Bexley Hoppret, the young lord and Meskod Mulrow. Meskod ends up winning 2-0 but Thryn notices that Bexley cut himself on his knife at one point and while he had a wound, he didn’t bleed. After this there is some music as the party starts to build up to a conclusion. A baker is heard at the end playing a song of love and loss at the end as Ivy is seen storming up to the manor. To finish off the events, Gal and Berenger come out as the largest tent is cleared, and an event known as the blood whips takes place. After a furious set of attacks from Berenger, Gal waits patiently for his one opportunity to strike and finds it perfectly, drawing blood from Berenger.
While sneaking around inside the manor, Anya descends into the bowels of the building, and finds a Half Elf woman crying while punching sacks of flour. Finally, the end events begins. Drums roll, and some more inebriated of the manor guards bring out the central showpiece. A massive suit of mandalorian armour, in full plate with fur pelts rounding out the style. Brought out with it is also a highly intricately smithed rapier made out of a metal that none of the party yet recognises.
