Typical TARDIS Accuracy
Stepping back into the caldera, the party is hit in the face with the heat and the sulphur smells after being in a peaceful green glade for so long. Looking around, it doesn’t look like much has changed, Amrud’s body is nowhere to be found and the rope leading up to the immovable rod is burned up and charred.
Filling in Aranar with what happened in the Feywild as he doesn’t remember much, including Anya dobbing in Thryn’s encounter with the floating lights, the party settles in for the night in the surrounding forest, as Aranar senses something is off about the environment.
Gathering their things, the party heads back to where they left their horses. Returning to the site, the horses are gone and grass is growing up around the wheels of their cart. The growth combined with the heat, Aranar realises it is summer and that at least a month has passed them by while they were in the Feywild.
Realisation dawning over the party, they decide to head to the Kings road, and then go to Ironmaw to gather more information as to what has been going on. A 2 day journey turns into 3 as the forest and animals are tougher and slowing the party down more. Dodging oddly-shaped birds in the sky, the party almost miss the Kings road, given how overgrown it is. Seeing the state of the world, plans change and they set off for Starhaven.
On the road, the party runs into a band of refugees from a nearby town, crossing the road. After a tense but brief conversation with the leader of the group, the party find out that this town is fleeing an acid-spitting monster, heading to Freehold.
Quite rudely, they are all interrupted by a band of Kobolds firing arrows into the crowd, and a fight ensues. First dispatching the Kobolds, then the reinforcements including a flying, two-legged monster, Anya more than proves her worth keeping it stunned as they are all dispatched. After a short rest while Anya inspects the creature and the villagers patch themselves up, the party joins the refugees on their way to Freehold.
Arriving at Freehold, the group is met by the town guard and the Judge. Captain Ciadi and Judge Galtrat Flintaxe almost come to blows with each other and the group, until the priest of the town intervenes, taking the group and wounded to their temple without asking for permission.
Captain Ciadi leads the party through the town to the tavern after the party agree to help temporarily with the Kobold raids and creatures in the mines. The head of one of these creatures is brought to the party by the manager of the mines, Kola. The head of the creature is clumped together dirt and stone, with no animation left in it after it was destroyed. Agreeing to help the next day, the party settle in for the night, but not before the proprietor of the tavern asks for a game of totally not rigged chance with the party.
